Massage therapy, energy work, Reiki, and crystal healing are optional, voluntary additions to your wellbeing. They are not intended to replace appropriate medical care.


Wellness Massage

This is your wellness and stress-relief massage. I use my training in Swedish and deep tissue massage, plus trigger point therapy, myofascial release techniques, and massage tools to create a therapeutic, relaxing experience.

This massage is perfect for regular maintenance, self-care, and ongoing treatment of chronic tension or effects of previous injuries. 

I check in with you before every session to get an idea of what areas you’d like to focus on, and I’ll check in with you during the massage and make sure I am working within your comfort range.

Sessions take place on a massage table. Clients are typically undressed to their comfort, and properly draped at all times.

You can also customize your session with energy work or essential oils (see Additional Services below).

Myofascial Release (MFR)

Myofascial release offers a different approach to bodywork. It is a manual therapeutic stretching therapy that uses sustained traction and/or compression to connect deeply with the fascia.

Fascia is connective tissue, like an inner web or net, and basically holds us together underneath our skin. If your muscles feel tight and sore, then your fascia is stuck and preventing the free flow of blood and oxygen to your other tissues.These restrictions create pain and stiffness, limiting movement, and sometimes leading to a decrease in quality of life.

A typical myofascial release session will start with a brief intake and a physical evaluation. I will look at the balance of your shoulders and your hips, and ask questions about how you are feeling. You will be partially clothed in a tank top and loose shorts on the massage table; no oil or lotion is used. Using sustained stretching, friction, compression, and other techniques I focus on one to two main areas of concern, taking time to seek out and release the deepest restrictions for lasting positive change in the body. The amount of pressure will vary from light touch to deep work at muscle attachments and around joints, as well as very deep layers of muscle.

Reiki is a form of energy therapy that uses gentle hands-on placements, no-touch techniques, and/or visualization for improving, restoring and balancing energy (Qi, Chi, Prana) within the body. It works in harmony with other types of therapies and medicine to combat anxieties and physical illnesses. Reiki is non-invasive and non-aggressive; the energy that flows is subtle, gentle, and goes where it it most needed. Some say it is a spiritual healing art (not tied to any or one religion), because the Reiki practitioner works on the physical, emotional, and spiritual layers of a person.  

I also use crystals, stones, and gems, placed on the body, to adjust, shift, and transform the energetic frequencies of the body, combining Reiki and crystal healing into one session. As holistic therapies, they work well together, and clients have said that the crystal therapy enhances the results of the Reiki session.

During a treatment you are fully clothed and resting comfortably on the table. Clients report a feeling of deep relaxation that washes over the body during these sessions, with some drifting off to sleep, some having visions, or receiving information and insight around a particular issue. Every client tells me they feel more grounded and centered in themselves.
